The Company
This Global Accountancy Practice based in the Channel Islands has appointed Reach International to recruit Auditors at Assistant Manager level to its Guernsey & Jersey offices.
With 13 partners and over 200 staff, the firm provides audit, accounting, tax and regulatory services to an extensive range of local and international clients.
The economies of the Channel Islands are dominated by the finance industry and their client base reflects this. They are a market leader in each of the key sectors of the finance industry: banking, investment business ie funds, fiduciary services and insurance. They also serve a significant number of non finance businesses, some of which are family-owned and have been clients for several generations.
The Role
In addition to providing an independent opinion on the financial statements of a business, the firm's audit role now encompasses a range of related functions including:
* accounting advice
* advice on corporate governance
* reporting to regulators and other third parties
Their approach is based on an assessment of risk which recognises the need for business and controls to react to changing technology and market conditions including the need for increased openness in the management of business and financial reporting.
You will be responsble for a number of staff and work closely with colleagues in other offices in connection with the audits of the many international groups represented in the Channel Islands.
UK accounting, reporting and auditing standards are most commonly applied in the Channel Islands however you will become familiar with and regularly work to International Standards as well as those of the United States.
The firms Audit Professionals work closely with regulatory, tax and IT professionals to help ensure their clients are able to deal with a single client service team.
The Candidate
* Newly or recently qualified ACA/CA/ACCA or equivalent
*Strong Audit experience gained within a Practice Firm
* Track record of working with multiple client assignments at the same time
* Supervision of junior team members
* EU Nationals required, due to immigration restrictions
