Offshore Financial Centres (OFCs), as low-tax, lightly regulated jurisdictions, specialise in providing the corporate and commercial infrastructure for the formation of offshore companies and for the investment of offshore funds.

Reach the Turks and Caicos Islands

The Turks and Caicos Islands, a British overseas territory, enjoy one of the more dynamic economies in the West Indies. Tourism and offshore finance have replaced salt production as the main sources of prosperity for the low-lying islands and cays. Thousands of overseas companies are registered in the islands.

With one of the longest coral reefs in the world, the Turks and Caicos Islands have always been considered luxurious especially for those with an interest in diving. As an offshore jurisdiction, the islands also offer professionals the chance to progress in their career whilst experiencing an altogether different work-life balance.

/offshoremaps/turksThe Turks and Caicos Islands are British Overseas Territories consisting of two groups of islands in the West Indies.  With eight main islands and more than 20 smaller ones, they are 914 km from Miami, USA and Cockburn Town is the capital.  Flights from the UK take approximately 12 hours flying into Providenciales International Airport via a USA airport.

The islands are usually sunny and dry but as with all islands in this proximity, they will experience an annual hurricane season.  Between June and October the temperatures range between 85°F and 90°F (29°C to 32°C), dropping only a few degrees in winter. On average the islands have 350 days of sunshine a year.

Upmarket tourism is centred on Providenciales, or Provo. Coral reefs and 200 miles of beaches draw holidaymakers and divers, mostly from the US and Canada. The territory is home to the world's only conch farm and the molluscs are exported.

Islanders have British citizenship and the territory enjoys strong links with Canada. The economy of the Turks and Caicos Islands is based on tourism and offshore financial services.
